An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

It's all about cheating - the biggest threat to intimacy. Typically, men are good at creating rifts in relationships but terrible at mending them, especially after they've repeatedly betrayed their partner through sexual infidelity. For the most part, cheating men are both intimacy-challenged and empathy-challenged, and, as such, they lack the skills needed to overcome the damage wrought by their infidelity. Robert Weiss has spent over 20 years in the treatment of sex and intimacy issues. He's helped both cheating men and their betrayed spouses....

The phrase "broken heart" belies the real trauma behind the all-too-common occurrence of infidelity. Psychologist Dennis Ortman likens the psychological aftermath of sexual betrayal to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in its origin and symptoms, including anxiety, irritability, rage, emotional numbing, and flashbacks. Dr. Ortman sees recovery as a spiritual journey and draws on the wisdom of diverse faiths, from Christianity to Buddhism. He also offers exercises to deepen recovery, such as guided meditations and journaling.

Leave a Cheater, Gain a Life is a no-nonsense self-help guide for anyone who has ever been cheated on. Here's advice not based on saving your relationship after infidelity - but saving your sanity. When it comes to cheating, a lot of the attention is focused on cheaters - their unmet needs or their challenges with monogamy. But Tracy Schorn (aka Chump Lady) lampoons such blameshifting and puts the focus squarely on the cheated-upon (chumps) and their needs.

Until now, we've been taught that forgiveness is good for us and that good people forgive. Dr. Janis Abrahms Spring proposes a radical, life-affirming alternative that lets us overcome the corrosive effects of hate and get on with our lives—without forgiving. She also offers a powerful and unconventional model for earning genuine forgiveness—one that asks as much of the offender as it does of the hurt party.

Cheaters read this book!
This book lays out what the cheater needs to do if he wants to rebuild his relationship.
It supports what women need after having their hearts crushed and world destroyed.
This book can only help men that are capable of empathy and putting their wife’s needs and hurt before their own selfish entitled self.
Often the men who cheat come from a dysfunctional family and can’t see past the end of their selfish nose to actually be able to support their grieving spouse.
It backs up and gives another voice to the horrible trauma of lies, disrespect and cheating and is a guide for the cheating husband to help his wife heal. This is his ongoing job and to be done on the victims own personal timeline. By choosing to cheat you are choosing to abuse someone that loves you. It is never a good idea for anybody.
Women need to stand together rather than go after another’s husbands and allow him to use her.
Have expectations and demand respect as well as give it back when deserved.
Be your best you and make the right choices and if you are reading this book cause you cheated then you owe it to your partner to fix that and your pathetic self!
It takes a lot for a women to pick herself up and put one foot in front of another to move forward. Cheating causes PTSD. How can she trust her husband or any other man after being screwed over in the cruelest way possible.
The very least a cheater can do is read this book as well as the other women that cheat with these men. Don’t be persuaded by lies to take your clothes off. Being used should not be a turn on.
