This book was really not for me. I guess it has some decent insights into how technology has taken away some good aspects of our lives. But the story is just so depressing and not engaging. Further not only did I not resonate with the family I really didn't like them. From their weird and annoying names to the fact they are always sad, upset or complaining (the kids are the worst). The technology is also a little bit inconsistent as there are amazing technological advances (AGI), but apparently the robots cannot clean up dead mice and people need to do this for a job??? I finished the book mainly because it was short but definitely wasn't worth a credit in my opinion.

It’s a fascinating set up but it felt like she was just getting to the really interesting part of the relationship between technology and humanity. The ending felt very abrupt and left a lot of good story arcs unexplored. The writing was solid and it was a thought provoking exploration of what the future might hold.
