Civil War casualty, Trevor Lawson, has become a vampire at the hands of Queen LaRouge, and now spends his decades as a late-night hired gun. In New Orleans he’s hired to travel to the tornado-wracked ghost town of Nocturne, where dark forces demanded him by name to come pay a ransom to rescue a kidnapped young lady. Aided by his priest confidant (who is trying to help Trevor return to himanity), Lawson fights “The Dark Society” at every turn, hoping to finally corner and kill LaRouge and reverse his cursed life.

The immersive audio and full cast is very enjoyable, but this abridged version seems rushed and a little too monologue-heavy in parts. A fun little 3-hour adventure, regardless.

A nice paced audio book that takes you right into the action. I enjoyed the cast and the narration as it gave it more of a southern vampire feel.
