Description

Could “UFOs” and “aliens” simply be us, but from the future? This provocative new audiobook cautiously examines the premise that extraterrestrials may instead be our distant human descendants, using the anthropological tool of time travel to visit and study us in their own hominin evolutionary past.

Dr. Michael P. Masters, a professor of biological anthropology specializing in human evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine, explores how the persistence of long-term biological and cultural trends in human evolution may ultimately result in us becoming the ones piloting these disc-shaped craft, which are likely the very devices that allow our future progeny to venture backward across the landscape of time. Moreover, these extratempestrials are ubiquitously described as bipedal, large-brained, hairless, human-like beings who communicate with us in our own languages and who possess technology advanced beyond, but clearly built upon, our own.

These accounts, coupled with a thorough understanding of the past and modern human condition, point to the continuation of established biological and cultural trends here on Earth, long into the distant human future.

If "UFOLOGY' is not your thing, This is your guy.

Ufology has long been a discouraging word and idea for me, i wont go list the reasons why. If you feel the same then read on.

My experience with "flying saucers" or "UFOs" has left me with the unwavering feeling that "They must be us". I have personally had experiences with the craft. I have never found anyone before this man who has done such a good job with going thru the logic of how I feel the way I do,

I have 2 hours left on his book to listen to, and though he has never seen one. his deduction and reasoning is amazing and something to listen to if you love anthropology and the "UFO" phenomenon. This book should be the absolute number 1 book spearheading the academic scientific pursuit of this odd phenomenon.

As a multiple experiencer of this phenomenon I would advise anyone who is serious about learning about this particular study to read or listen to this book on audible.

I prefer to listen so I am elated that it is on audible. I am very excited to hear that he might have a second book coming that he is currently writing.

Thank you Michael Masters for everything you have done to make this publication available.
G.B.

Ingenious Interpretation of the UFO phenomenon

This is a great work of scholarship and interdisciplinary research. The author is a well-spoken, well-educated professor of anthropology. His expert knowledge of human evolution has been supplemented with experts in biology and physics. His theory is an ingenious interpretation of the UFO and alien abduction phenomenon. He argues that if they are real, then it is very likely that UFOs and aliens are time machines and time travelers, not space ships and extraterrestrials. These beings are extratempestrials, meaning they are humanity's evolutionary descendants traveling back in time to study the ancestral Homo sapiens species. Even if his theory is not true, the book still works as an excellent futurological analysis of the possible future evolution of the human species. The best chapters include those on the history of UFOs, time travel, and human evolution and history. This is a great work of a true gentleman and scholar. I would recommend it to readers of nonfiction and science fiction.

We are the Aliens?

I am glad to have read this book. I have always contemplated the fact that some of the worldwide sightings are inter dimensional in nature and the strong possibility that they could be future versions of us.

The author makes a very compelling and scientific exploration that is difficult to ignore.

A must read for those interested in this type of study and research.

I don’t agree with his hypothesis but it’s nonetheless explained very well.

I’m giving this book 5 stars because I believe it is well thought out and interesting. I also however don’t agree with his opinions on the subject. In my non-scientific and relatively (to the author at least) uneducated opinion, it falls victim to the regular, everyday scientific belief that we know and understand enough to disprove the existence of extraterrestrial high intelligence. If you study or follow ufology, this is not remotely uncommon. I don’t know what it is that so many people have experienced and continue to experience. I think the Drake equation, the Fermi paradox etc., has become a crutch to avoid outside the box thinking in the subject. But WTH do I know? I’m no scientist, I’m just a reader.

A long overdue semi-scientific assessment of UFOs

Finally, a realistic evaluation of UFO phenomena, in terms of current Anthropological perspectives. All Scientific investigators should pay attention here. This is where Evolution aware Science starts to pay off in terms of assisting in the understanding of a phenomenon that is not going to conveniently disappear.

Thorough very thorough.

The sub title is a hundred percent accurate. He came at the problem from as many angles as possible. Not all arguments hold water, but a serious, compelling and refreshing look at a seemingly ridiculous subject matter. Brilliant read.

Thought Provoking

An alternative theory on the UFO/Extraterrestrial paradox. I and many others have always found major flaws in other theories. This is one that, in my opinion, not only holds water, but is paradigm shifting. Dr. Masters' research is presented in a factual, concise, digestible manner, and I'm currently listening to it a second time. So excited to hear that there is a follow up in the works!

Surprising

I am a skeptic and have never witnessed a UFO though I have spoken with many people who have. I'm not saying they don't exist just that I have never seen one. That being said, this book was still very interesting and provides a great explanation for UFO and extra terrestrial events. Dr. Masters provides sound research and facts to back his hypothesis which brings a fresh outlook on the subject. This book had/has me thinking about UFO's in a totally different way and I believe it makes more sense than the old explanation of visitors from another planet. A great read/listen!

ETs and IFOs

Utterly fascinating. This is the most thought-provoking book on the topic of UFOs (er, IFOs) that I have read since the 90s, when I first stumbled on the books of Strieber, Mack, and Hopkins. It feels like a breakthrough, and may signal a shift in our thinking about this phenomenon (though it's worth noting that a book with similar ideas--Intervention by Alan Butler--came out in 2012). I won't bother summarizing any of Masters' book because it's too complex, and I need to listen to it again to make sure I understand all of it. I guess the only part I would want to debate is the motivation that Masters ascribes to the ETs' secrecy. He says (I think he says) that they are secretive to avoid causal complexity. But doesn't that contradict what he says about the inviolate nature of time? The future has already happened, so why would they bother to hide it from us? Wouldn't the ETs want us to know that they are us, to make the whole experience less traumatic? My second question is also related to the cyclic nature of time described in the book. I wonder if the inevitability of the "one future" includes thought and emotion, or if it's just limited to observable phenomena. Maybe I'm just reluctant to give up entirely on the idea of free will, but I wonder if our perspective could evolve in unpredictable ways even though outer events are predetermined. There's a lot of interesting stuff to ponder here. A must-listen for those interested in ETs, UFOs, and time travel.

A Very Riveting Book

This book made me think of IFO's in a totally different way. I really liked the part where it went into detail about the abductions. I will listen again!
