À propos de cet audio
Adam Hammond wants to return to a more normal existence, but the monsters who come to his door each night, appearing as the people he has loved and lost, have different ambitions. They beg and plead for Adam to open the door; to come outside. Appearing as his deceased wife and son, they cry for him to open his sanctuary to them, but Adam knows to do so would mean his death.
Adam desires the life he knew before the arrival of the shape-shifting beasts, the same life he lived with his wife and son when such creatures were the content of unimaginable scary movies. His old life in the suburbs of Denver is now gone, traded for the new dystopian horror scene where he survives inside of the Colorado Rockies. When the first of the beasts arrived to trick people into coming out of their homes, Adam had no idea of everything he would lose.
Since that dreadful first night, Adam has suffered nothing but loss, making his new view of the world a pessimistic one filled with hate and fear. To make matters worse, Adam knows Jerry, the wild, psychologically imbalanced teenage girl from his recent past, still roams the forests. She watches him, searching for a way to do to him what she has already done to his wife and child–kill him.
Adam knows his last chance at happiness; to find redemption in a cold, distorted landscape can only come because of Jerry’s death. And, with Jerry closing in on him, and the strange undulating monsters still seeking him each night, Adam will be pushed to his very limits in this apocalyptic horror novel.
Welcome to the continuing story of Adam Hammond. He’s still here, waiting for his one shot at revenge and redemption. In the end, the surprise coming Adam’s way will be as shocking to you as it will be him.
