Excellent Storytelling in both prose and narration
A book so rich in eccentric characters, deep world building and heart-stopping action, it's easy to get lost between the pages and forget about the real world around you.
From an action packed opening that immediately introduces you to the world and agency of the protagonist, to the finale fight for the death at the end, Imperium Descent, will keep you transfixed, entertained and on your toes. And peppered with great wit, moral dilemmas and moments that make you go 'hmmmm', when you're done, you'll be wanting to pick up the next one in the series right away.
Mr. Hopper has a way with words. His ability to mix vibrant descriptions seamlessly into his prose makes for an easy, enjoyable read. Nothing tangles up or distracts you from the story at hand as you get acquainted with the characters and their quest. And most importantly, with this book being part of a series, the ending leaves you satisfied. The book's story is finished, but wait! There's more! You're left knowing more is to come but without the expensive of feeling like you've been 'click-baited' with an amateur cliffhanger. Yes, Christopher Hopper did it right! For me, Imperium Descent Volume II, is already cued up and ready to be enjoyed!
And let us not forget the excellent narration! Clear and distinct voice acting giving each character their own charm and uniqueness. Easy to listen to. And don't forget the gag reel at the end!

A great beginning
This is an amazing beginning to a moving journey. Chris Hopper is an amazing author, and narrator! A very diverse voice portfolio. Narrating is excellent, story is excellent, listen to it, and all the other volumes too.

One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to!
I’ve listened to over 200 audiobooks over the last few years, and Imperium Descent Vol 1 is among the best.
Rich, detailed and enthralling story, matched by the author’s voice acting debut!! I am used to the talents of RC Bray, and this audiobook is truly at Bob’s level.
If you like Star Wars or Dune (or a combo of both), get this story. The Appendium that comes with the audiobook is also a cool bonus that you must check out.
