couldn't stop listening
this book is raw and real its written wonderfully and the narrator read it well, made it seem like it was actually happening and detailed. I highly recommend this. she's confidant and you could hear it from the reader. I couldn't stop listening it went through the book fast and wanted more.

ok story, terrible narrator
I did listen to the whole thing, just wishing the narrator didn't sound so much like a 75 yr old woman. it made the story feel so much older than it was.

Authentic story of addiction
I loved this story.
One I started listening, I was addicted!
This author beautifully describes her decent into addction and how she was able to sustain it working in the sex industry.
I feel grateful to know her story.

So well written…..
I absolutely loved this book. Her story is so sad, yet beautiful, and honest. I thought the narrator was good too.

harder review

The journey of recovery
The book was good - it did lull in some spots, and was anticlimactic, but I did enjoy hearing about the authors journey. Thank you for sharing such intimate parts of your life with the world

Interesting listen; terrible narrator
Now I see why so many people have mentioned the narrator’s voice. A different voice would have made it SO much better.
But it’s a very interesting dive into how an addict can rationalize their behavior… and a no-holds-barred look into what life working in a brothel is like.

Raw and well written.
This memoir is so raw it hurts to listen to sometimes. I’ve always been fascinated by the addiction world as how humans can go down that path. Kate tells her own story of how that happens. It shows that it doesn’t take much to go from doing something just once and then it spiralling to how she found herself. Her strength and courage on being able to get out with the constant support of her family shows she’s very smart, strong willed and brave. Thank you for sharing your story and being so real. I really enjoyed it. Just a note of warning for some people, the sexual content is sometimes very explicit and graphic, but it was Kate’s reality.

Loved the story, disliked the narrator
An incredible story, I really enjoyed it… once I got past the narrators weird accent!! I’m Australian, and they sounded like an American trying to put in an Aussie accent. I almost stopped listening because of it!!
Once I got used to the strange cadence of her voice, I was engrossed in the story. Really glad she was able to get out of her addiction and so fortunate she had an incredible, loving family.
