À propos de cet audio
I am both a mother and a child.
The child writes with an innate curiosity about the small things of the world.
The mother reflects on the self, on grown-up love and loss, on the beginnings and endings of life. Sometimes the mother edits the child’s work; other times the child urges the mother to write fearlessly, to explore without hesitation, to embrace mistakes.
As I revisit my past writing, recurring themes surface: my skin as a generating idea, water in nature, the end of the universe, the celebration of life, and the necessity of letting go to regain control. These threads called me to gather my writings—poetry and prose alike, from sketchbooks and beyond—into this book.
The small fragments of text accumulate over time, gaining weight until they gather themselves into a few poems each year. Meanwhile, the drawings in my sketchbook, once left behind, have found their own expressive ground and grown into full illustrations.
