This is the latest of his books at this time, and you can tell he has had a change in style. Writing Terminal list for us the reader was the first book he put out. But these is a change in his style now that he has written for the screen. This is a more “visual” story and a little briefer. While he still goes into great “branding detail” when talking about guns cars & wine he seems to have stepped back a little. Knowing these details are nice but not essential to the overall story.
I found the final moments of this book more emotional than others. And it was easier to connect to the main character as more than a professional operator but as a normal guy.
It’s funny to see a writer evolve I guess but I do like to see it.
It’s a very fast book. The pace was always forward.
Worth it.

In typical Jack Carr fashion this is a novel written in strong and evocative detail well thought out. Being the fifth installment in the franchise and read by Ray Porter makes this audiobook a masterpiece. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

Jack Carr sucks you into another thriller. The creativity of some of the action scenes is outstanding. Especially the Milan butcher shop fight!!! Great novel and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

I really enjoy all the action in Jack Carr’s novels. They are fast-paced, exciting and they keep you wanting to listen to way past bedtime. I usually enjoy Roy Porter’s narrations but during long descriptions of weapons and a bit of a lecture at the beginning of this audible I found myself zoning out. I think this was mainly Carr’s fault but found Porter’s voice droning on. Maybe he was zoning out, too.

Fantastically written, couldn’t stop listening and. Not only a riveting story, Jack Carr gets all the details write. No amount of research done by an author without his military experience could truly capture this the way he does!
