In listening to this book I discovered that the only thing I really new about Livingstone was that he was in Africa and Stanley found him and said "Doctor Livingstone, I presume." The circumstances and the effort needed by all parties was in turn exhausting, catastrophic, and deadly.
It's a great piece of history.
