Laugh out loud moments, fun characters, and a hot romance story! I really enjoyed this audiobook and can't wait for the next one to come out! So worth the credit! I binged it in one day lol!

River and his stoner uncle Benny follow their suspicious neighbor “Tom Jones” out into the Nevada desert, suspecting that he is an alien. Well, he never turns on his air conditioning in Las Vegas. From there we are taken on a roller coaster ride of aliens, tentacle porn, River’s absolutely over-the-top fan boy delight in all his alien fantasies and theories coming true. Greg Boudreau is amazing at pitting River’s breathless excitement against Kal’s (the alien love interest) grumpy, overthinking reactions. The support cast is delightful, and I finished this and immediately started in on the second book in the series … Can’t Help Falling in Love with an Alien.
There are so many pop culture and science fiction movie references to keep a SF fan happy, and when River channels the delightful Madeleine Kahn’s “It’s twooo, it’s twooo”, the laughter just exploded out of me.

Oh, and a recurring theme exists of quotes from River’s Captain Starblade and Lord Vardox’s Tentacular Tales, a many chaptered ongoing serial that is a hit through the galaxies, even though it only has 12 followers on earth.

Greg Boudreaux is AMAZING. With so many narrators, the only distinction between speakers is a slight change in tone or accent. Greg BECAME these characters and I loved it! He infused enthusiasm and frustration and affection into each character, and this was one of the liveliest performances I've listened to on Audible. I added an extra star purely for his performance.

A great narrator is the cherry on top of a wonderful story
