Jane Eyre has always been my favourite classic. In my youth, I read my paperback edition over and over until the pages came apart in my hand and I had to hold it together with an elastic. Of late, I have succumbed to watching the various editions in film. But when I saw that Amanda Root had given her considerable skills to an audio version, I purchased and enjoyed it very very much. Ms. Root truly inhabits the character and it was such a joy to revisit the full version of the book as I had read it so often long ago. A truly priceless work.
