Americans were shocked and outraged to see chaos unfold at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The melee shut down plans by some Republican lawmakers to object to Congress’ official certification of the 2020 presidential election results.
Democrats, the news media, and many leading Republicans immediately blamed the roughly four-hour disturbance on President Trump. The president “incited an insurrection”, the American pubic was told. It prompted a second impeachment trial of Donald Trump after he left office.
But one year later, the original narrative of what happened that day has crumbled while hundreds of Americans have been swept up in an unprecedented investigation led by Joe Biden’s Justice Department to punish them for their involvement in the January 6 protest. The public has been misled - and flat-out lied to - about a number of aspects related to that day. This book exposes them all.

My one complaint isn't really isn't a complaint - it's just that this book is hard to listen to. Emotionally. As I'm sure many who would be inclined to read this book are aware; the mass media and the political spin around Jan 6th is a gaslighting operation of epic proportions. Of course we're all, by now, accustomed to media and politicians lying to our faces unceassingly -- but the propaganda around Jan 6th is on a whole other level. I found myself pausing the audio book, my heart and mind racing, just because of how overwhelming and distressing the content is (which is unusual for me).
Unfortunately only based right wingers are ever going to look into this and see the psy-op for what it is, but what's happening in and around Jan 6th propaganda and prosecutions should be deeply disturbing to all Americans of all political backgrounds and demographics. The parallels these operations and events have with the most heinous authoritarian regimes of the 20th century are big blaring red alarms to anybody paying attention. Our rulers have taken the gloves off, and they'll clearly do almost anything to keep the bootheel on our necks.
If there were justice in this world Julie Kelly would be celebrated as one of the most serious journalists in the game. Buy this book, audio and physical, and spread it around. People need to see this.
