À propos de cet audio
Joe’s McFarlands is a extensive history of the McFarland Clan from 840 to 1970. It includes his direct linage back to 1709 in Scotland.
This 2nd Edition is the result of my research for a great number of years. The 1st Edition was in hardback and was published in 2003. This book is my attempt to preserve a consecutive account of the investigation that I have done into the McFarland family history for many years.
Chapters 3-7 are about a generation one of my McFarland forefathers. Chapter 8, 9, & 10 are about my father, Joe McFarland. Chapters 5 & 6 include a general history of Bay Springs, Mississippi and Jasper County where it is located.
In addition to Bay Springs, there are numerous references to the town of Paulding which began to develop after the War of 1812. Prior to the Civil War, it was considered “The Queen City of the East.”
Chapter 6 is about a Prisoner of War at Vicksburg in 1863 who was my great-great grandfather, John Brown McFarland. It references McFarland Church and McFarland Cemetery just south of Heidelberg which are both named in his honor.
There is a “recap” of each of the ten chapters of this book on my web site: www:mcfarlandfamilyhistory.com.
