A season word is words to specify the season of a phrase written in Japanese traditional short poem, especially haiku. In making a haiku, you would use a season word in it. The main aim of this rule is to make a reader to feel a sense if the season. But it is not all. The rule gave us amusement like a puzzle and helped spreading haiku and deepening of haiku's artistic importance.
