A billionaire with more swagger than I'd like to admit, a mansion I absolutely don't belong in, and a fortune that isn't as clean as it seems on the surface...

My life's not bad, but it could definitely be better. I'm stuck in the tiniest of bungalows with my two sisters, and I work a job in journalism that barely keeps the lights on. Between work, bills, and hardly any space to breathe, I've been positively yearning for a way out.

When I land a gig to write the biography of a certain Dawson Lancaster, one of the richest—and most jaw-clenchingly frustrating—billionaires around, I think that maybe this is the big break I've been waiting for. All I've got to do is move into his sprawling mansion, schedule a couple of interviews, and write the book. Simple, right? Wrong.

Dawson is everything I hate—stuck up, controlling, and way too good-looking for his own good. Sure, he's got me feeling things I shouldn't be, but that's beside the point.

But here's the real wrench in the gears—Dawson's life is a facade. The deeper I dig, the more skeletons I stumble upon. Gorgeous or not, this man has far more to his past than I could have ever guessed.

At this point, I should be packing my suitcase and making a beeline back to my own paltry life... But I just can't turn my back on all this. Not with my biggest payday ever on the line—and, more importantly, not with the flame between us burning as bright as it is.

But I just can't pretend Dawson's the innocent man I once thought he was. Am I strong enough to face the truth once I've dug it all up...
