Excellent Book on Leadership & Process Improvement

Learning to Lead, Leading to Learn is by far one of the best books I’ve read on leadership and process improvement mindset. I love the way Katie describes Mr. Yoshino’s Warp & Weft Threads way of looking at life’s Purpose (mission) vs. Discoveries (curve balls) that makes us who we are.

Mr. Yoshino’s success and learnings from the NUMMI venture between Toyota & GM to his failures and learning from his initial days in the paint department to his final years in the Toyota water ski boat venture is a great reminder for all of us on how to learn from our mistakes and make a better version of ourselves.

I am grateful to Mr. Yoshino for sharing his personal life story and taking us inside the world of Toyota Production System (TPS) which later evolved to Lean Management System; and I am thankful to Katie for asking in-depth questions to Mr. Yoshino to make him draw upon his brightest and darkest memories of learning and growing as a leader and teacher at Toyota.

This book is a must read for anyone in the process improving or business transformation business, or simply looking to be a better leader to help their people succeed.
