 Immaculée Ilibagiza grew up in a country she loved, surrounded by a family she cherished. But in 1994 her idyllic world was ripped apart as Rwanda descended into a bloody genocide. Immaculee’s family was brutally murdered during a killing spree that lasted three months and claimed the lives of nearly a million Rwandans.

Incredibly, Immaculee survived the slaughter. For 91 days, she and seven other women huddled silently together in the cramped bathroom of a local pastor while hundreds of machete-wielding killers hunted for them. It was during those endless hours of unspeakable terror that Immaculee discovered the power of prayer, eventually shedding her fear of death and forging a profound and lasting relationship with God.

She emerged from her bathroom hideout having discovered the meaning of truly unconditional love—a love so strong she was able seek out and forgive her family’s killers. This book hits deep in your soul. I will never forget this painful but inspiring story. Immaculee Ilibagiza partnered with God is an amazing woman. She sets the ultimate example of true, unwavering faith even when surrounded by treacherous, pure evil and heart shattering circumstances. She talks about a message she received from God (one of many)… Faith can move mountains, but if faith was easy all of the mountains would be gone. Thank you, thank you for sharing your story. Your story that will inspire so much good in the world. May God continue to bless you and your wonderful family look down upon you while surrounded in the Joy of Gods light and love.

A heart wrenching tale of a woman raised in a home filled with love and traditional values, moving into a new school setting that started to open her eyes to pure hate, and thrown in head and heart into one of the most horrific holocausts at the hands of people who stopped seeing their neighbour as human. Whether rats or cockroaches, once humans devalue each other, even in the womb, there is no limit to the horrors man can do to man. Even amongst all the hate and death, God can peirce and help heal a heart that could never heal without Him. I was continually reminded of the power and importance of daily prayer.

Through the power of God, forgiveness is possible.

This is an incredible listen. A true story, filled with faith, hope, forgiveness & healing. The narration was beautifully performed & the entire production is flawless. Truly, Icannot recommend this audiobook enough.
