Hold the line.

After narrowly defeating the invading enemy fleet, there is evidence that the attack isn't over.

Thousands have died, and all that stands between human extinction and the invaders are the remnants of the colonial military.

Connor must find a way to rally the colony using every scrap of ingenuity to stop the invaders. But will he succeed when he finds himself pitted against mankind's ultimate enemy? This could be mankind's final hour...or its greatest victory.

Well done trilogy wrap up

Would you consider the audio edition of Legacy to be better than the print version?

I regularly get both kindle and audio versions. I am enthralled with Audible and the transformation of audiobooks to real performances. The narrator of this series, Mr. Aiello, is incredible. You will find that you know who is speaking simply from the voice. The audio talent is incredible and really adds to the story itself. (The story is excellent as well and does a nice job of closing the open plot lines.)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sean Quinn. Lozito does a wonderful job of evolving him from the first novel throughout the series.

What about Scott Aiello’s performance did you like?

His vocal range is amazing. He is capable of truly providing a different voice for each character. He is particularly impressive in his portrayal of female characters.

Lozito continues to deliver

This is my second series from this author and I love the story telling woven in with world building. Aiello does the work justice, albeit not as good as Hays did with the other series. Either way, I highly recommend anything by this author.

A cliche Storm, A Twilight Zone Out

reusing ideas to loose to recognize
A cliche storm, worst trends on contemporary SI-FI
World destruction by an uncertified author to use ultra-violent plot point without serous thought or reason.
Hero racked by maudlin, survivor guilt. Exposing reader callous risk, of Narcissistic Victim Syndrome.

It appears that authors love their heroes too much - to the exclusion of anyone else. It is as if they are God himself and those around them must recognize their omnipotence, supreme knowledge, and absolute entitlement and power. Rules don't apply to them. They have an unrealistic and overblown sense of self, often without the credentials to match, as well as fantasies of unlimited power, success, and/or brilliance. Partial Sourse: Medical News Today, By Mary Jo Fay

Hyper romantic hero tripe has more plot weight than any other part of story
Twilight Zone moral faerie tale, horror show, is we live in a collective fear of by generation, such as, nuclear inhalation, climate change, social & political fear for added zest.
Sad trend, SI-FI pulp authors destroys earth, on the sites like this, tens of thousands of times - rarely by climate change. Worse, uncountable worlds, universes & multiverses, again rarely by accredited authors. Any 1st grader can write a story that destroys earths. Mass murder by keyboard sells. Aspiring spouses can thank his/her wife. And get 1/4 of the American dream.

BECOMES A LAME “ZOMBIES IN OUTER-SPACE” STORY

Lozito should be ashamed of himself (and I don’t understand how people can love his writing so much)....this book was the worst of the series. The story is filled with totally overused cliches, and there is no logical or scientific basis for the enemy “Vemus” (which are basically un-killable zombies that have abilities and ships that violate the rules of physics, and who crossed interstellar space to attack the only human colony for no reason.

Inconsistent and lacks depth

The first three books in the First Colony series lack a sense of depth and internal consistency. However this book was the worst one.

Many of the events in the book are unconnected and lack internal justification. For example the firing of the cannon in sanctuary, the no depth is given to the explanation of how the rouge soldiers would have gained access to the cannon much less an explanation of how the mechanics of actually firing the cannon would have worked.

This lack of depth is also shown in how the Vemus themselves are portrayed, the totality of explanation given for their actions is that they are Syndicate. This is insufficient, why does the Syndicate want to assimilate mankind? Lead them to taking this path? Every villain is a hero in their own story, As far as we can tell based on these books the Vemus/Syndicate see themselves as villains.

Increasingly cliche and full of tropes

The series as a whole alternates between intriguing and contrived, but unfortunately becomes increasingly the latter as it approaches the climax. Reads like a compilation of Michael Bay's greatest hits, with all the shallowness it implies.

Excellent read and excellent listen..

Wow, Wow, Wow! Except for about a page-and-a-half (LOL) this entire book was one huge battle. All the earthlings against the Vemus. And a lot of the people of New Earth died, and some became stronger.

I loved the characters: Sean, Savannah and Nathan, Lenora, Ashley and Tobias, and all the secondary characters who ran the ships, and all the characters who died in battle that we got to know.

This will be a really short review because I really can’t tell you about the battles that went on.

There’s no sex and no real swearing.

As to the narration: I think Scott Aiello is what made these books so exciting. He’s just awesome with the voices and the emotions when he reads.

This particular book is pretty boring

The other two books were nice and entertaining, but this one is pretty boring and much more military... too much military, as if I care for ranks and military details. Looks like author just put in data to make the book larger, but the data is not very interesting. For me this book is the end of the story.
