À propos de cet audio

How will artificial intelligence affect crime, war, justice, jobs, society, and our very sense of being human? The rise of AI has the potential to transform our future more than any other technology - and there's nobody better qualified or situated to explore that future than Max Tegmark, an MIT professor who's helped mainstream research on how to keep AI beneficial.

How can we grow our prosperity through automation without leaving people lacking income or purpose? What career advice should we give today's kids? How can we make future AI systems more robust so that they do what we want without crashing, malfunctioning, or getting hacked? Should we fear an arms race in lethal autonomous weapons? Will machines eventually outsmart us at all tasks, replacing humans on the job market and perhaps altogether? Will AI help life flourish like never before or give us more power than we can handle?

What sort of future do you want? This book empowers you to join what may be the most important conversation of our time. It doesn't shy away from the full range of viewpoints or from the most controversial issues - from superintelligence to meaning, consciousness, and the ultimate physical limits on life in the cosmos.

Ce que les critiques en disent

"This is a compelling guide to the challenges and choices in our quest for a great future of life, intelligence and consciousness - on Earth and beyond." (Elon Musk, founder, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX and cofounder and CEO of Tesla Motors)
"All of us - not only scientists, industrialists and generals - should ask ourselves what can we do now to improve the chances of reaping the benefits of future AI and avoiding the risks. This is the most important conversation of our time, and Tegmark's thought-provoking book will help you join it." (Professor Stephen Hawking, director of research, Cambridge Centre for Theoretical Cosmology)
"Tegmark's new book is a deeply thoughtful guide to the most important conversation of our time, about how to create a benevolent future civilization as we merge our biological thinking with an even greater intelligence of our own creation." (Ray Kurzweil, inventor, author, and futurist, author of The Singularity Is Near and How to Create a Mind)

this is such a fascinating topic and the narrator did a great job of bringing the material to life. I recommend reading this now and not putting it off as the pace of technology is such that some of the ideas presented here might be out of date before too long.

thoughtful, thorough, and well read

An excellent discussion with excellent narration on the topic of AI. almost all of the content was on point, nothing was boring about this book.

AI - Whats going to happen?

I loved it, the author mix quantum physics with sociological theories in a very simple and direct language.

This is one one of the most brilliant books !

Well organized (perhaps too organized). References to which chapter to read were unnecessary. A great audio book otherwise. The author should write a fiction piece that follows the Omega group.

Worth listening to

a bunch of it was meh, but lots of it is still really good and definitely made me think about a type of future I never thought of before

overall interesting with some great stories

Interesting and thought provoking audiobook on AI. I really enjoyed some of the theoretical scenarios. Excellent narration and would recommend if you're interested in AI technology.

Starting with the negatives, sometimes the book felt a little redundant as some points seemed obvious after others were already stated. Or in some cases things were straight up stated multiple times.

That said, overall I found the subject matter very fascinating, and also pretty damn worrisome for the future of mankind. But in all honesty, it's been worrying since before listening to this AudioBook, so that's nothing new.

Definitely recommend. It's a book for everyone and anyone curious about what tomorrow might bring.

Overall an awesome AudioBook!

I appreciate that through Audible I discovered this book. A very important presentation of AI & future possibilities of the growth of this technology.
As with our past human history cautions, it will not be the technology that will be the danger to humanity, it will be human kind.

Act positively, prepare wisely and Live fully.

A sign post book

One of the best books out there in AI and the future of machine intelligence. Hugely helpful in this format is the stellar narration by Rob Shapiro. Similarly important books like Superintelligence and The Singularity is Near were so poorly narrates that I found them impossible to get through. Great job.

Fantastic
