À propos de cet audio

When Miranda first hears the warnings that a meteor is headed on a collision path with the moon, they just sound like an excuse for extra homework assignments. But her disbelief turns to fear in a split second as the entire world witnesses a lunar impact that knocks the moon closer in orbit, catastrophically altering the earth’s climate.

Everything else in Miranda’s life fades away as supermarkets run out of food, gas goes up to more than ten dollars a gallon, and school is closed indefinitely. But what Miranda and her family don’t realize is that the worst is yet to come.

Told in Miranda’s diary entries, this is a heart-pounding account of her struggle to hold on to the most important resource of all–hope–in an increasingly desperate and unfamiliar time.©2006 Susan Beth Pfeffer; (P)2006 Random House Inc. Not the worst, but definitely not the best post apocalyptic story, it's obviously meant to be read by kids because the writing style is so painfully basic, and the voice narration is really bad. I finished it mainly because I had read this book in middle school and wanted to see how it held up as an adult, but I must say, it didn't hold up well.

Good concept, bad writing & worse voice narration

I was sceptical when I started this book as YA is usually about teenagers saving the world, but a friend recommended it so I tried it out. The narrator can be a little much, 16 years old must be a hard voice to do, but I got used to it.

The story, the survival of this little family after a catastrophe, is really riveting. It’s so realistic that I was looking through my own pantry and wondering how I would survive if the worst happened. I’m looking forward to the sequel.

Pretty good listen

I read this book multiple times as I own it as a paper back that I got in my teens. I have struggled to reread alot of YA novels I got into back then or even the new stuff by authors I loved back then. Something about the formatting and clear writing still holds up and is enjoyable to revisit, even in audio book form as I near 30 years old. And thanks to audible I discovered this is part of a 4 book series and am excited to explore the continuation of a story Ive enjoyed for almost 15 years.

Holds up over time
