Well written but lacked info on authors beginnings

I enjoyed Stanley's story but wished he would have got more into his beginnings in life and his charges that landed him in prison. I'm hoping that he is now on the outside, enjoying life, feeling the grass on his bare feet and being kind to the people and animals around him.
