À propos de cet audio

Writing with the same mastery that has won him praise for his fiction, Richards takes us - even those unfamiliar with days spent in chilly waters - on an unforgettable journey to the famed Miramichi River. Casting new light on the mysterious and elegant world of fly fishing, it teems with lore and wisdom, humor, and most of all, passion.

I’m a Miramichier, by birth and love DAR and all of his books… But… this narrator has no sense of the soul of the river. So many mispronunciations, so monotonous. I’d volunteer to re-read this book just to say “Bartibog” and “Renous” properly.

Great book. Horribly read

I’ve enjoyed most of David Adams Richards writing. The details and perspective are true to the area and are easily shared by all who are from the area. This was the one book I had not read and thought it was better listened to; however, to be fair to the content and author it truly needs to be read again by another narrator with consistency and flow. The recording is choppy, dreadful flow, poor emphasis, and inconsistent annunciations. The local place names have been slaughtered.
Surely a Giller Prize winning book deserves much better.

Very good story, narrator/ recording is horrific
