Narrator's choice for Pericles voice unpalatable
Another great story from Iggulden, though somewhat less action filled than other works it is still an interesting story and we'll told. However, the narrator is a different person from the two preceding books about Greece which had many of the same characters. The change in voice and personality of these characters is hard not to be distracted by. As well, the voice he chose to use for Pericles makes him sound like a 12 year old boy, not the young man he is. It is brutal.

Third book of a awesome series. All very good. As close to the actual historical truth as a good story permits. I find the author sits high on the author list for historical fiction

Another solid entry
I have read every Conn Iggulden book he has written. This is a very solid story and very well narrated. It lacks the action and gripping battles of many of his other books including the one that preceded it, but captures the time in history very well and is still a good read. I am looking forward to the next book!
