Really enjoy Nick Cutters writing. This is my second audio book of his, The Troop being the first one. Great horror… body horror. Great character writer. As a fan of Stephen King, this definitely scratched an itch.

It starts off a bit slow, at one point I actually wondered if there had been some kind of mix up with the title details and the book. But it swings back fast to the expected plot which is pretty good. there's a few, odd, bits and one of the characters had a bit of a strange demeanor but it's still good.

I read "The Troop" by the same author which was really good. This isn't quite as good in my opinion but it was still really enjoyable.

A neo-noir-western tale spun against the backdrop of Arizona with timelines in 1965 and 1980. Honestly as a pulp story it really hits the mark, and the depiction of a grimdark horror was better than I expected. The sexual content is cringe AF, but every writer's got a style I guess...
