The narrator (Tod McLaren) had a deep gruff voice that, although sounding older and more mature than the main male character, was passable. When it changed to represent the voice of the central female in the story it was horrible ... sounded like the manly-deep voice of a middle aged or older woman who had chain smoked all her life! It was so pff-putting I’d lose interest and constantly needed to rewind to have another run at it. I’ve never had to work so hard to listen to an audio book!
I’ll be looking for a refund.
