À propos de cet audio

She knew all about his womanizing reputation, but wasn't prepared for his charm

When Sylvia Jensen-Graham travels to London to inform her country neighbor, the new Earl of Greyfalcon, that his recently widowed mama needs him, she little realizes that she'll need to employ trickery just to see the Earl. But the Dowager Countess's complaints about her health and her rakish son have been driving Sylvia to distraction, so she poses as a messenger and boldly enters Greyfalcon's club. He unmasks her but soon begins minding his affairs - and Sylvia's - until Sylvia fears that she'll need rescuing from the consequences of her own good deed.

I kept with it just because I was enjoying the story so much. The narrator puts too many emphasis pauses within phrases which makes it a very choppy listening experience. It shows up most frequently when she’s doing the narration portion rather than during character conversations, but can show up even then. Gets frustrating.

Great story

Amanda Scott’s writing style in "Lady Grayfalcon's Reward" has its merits, which is characterized by the way she mixes romance with intrigue. However, the audiobook narration severely detracts from the experience. Cat Gould's delivery comes off as flat and unengaging, with a lack of intonation that makes it difficult to distinguish between characters or convey the emotional depth of the scenes. Her pauses are oddly timed and disrupt the flow of the story, making the characters sound pompous, arrogant, and unlikable. This detracts from what could potentially be an interesting plot, leaving listeners struggling to stay engaged. The combination of narration issues and the slow pacing made it hard to connect with the story, resulting in frequent skips in hopes of finding something more engaging.

The narrator killed it.
