Hail to the Chef, Robert Jordan! LoC is tasty!!
I’m reading through again for the 3rd time again (unless you count starting at book 10 each time one of the last books was coming out - then it would be like the 5th) and I’m deep in Lord of Chaos... Perrin has just summoned the wolves (Two Moons!).
The book builds in a very mature way, some people might have found it slow, but there is a reason behind it. There are so many characters that Jordan has to spread the butter evenly on the bread. It is like watching a master chef at work: at the beginning he sets out to prepare the meal, by checking in with the characters, the menu, and all the kitchen tools and utensils needed for the meal. He starts by cleaning the kitchen, then bringing in all the food, washing everything off, chopping everything up, marinating and opening the wine to breathe. He makes sure we understand the context by preparing all the plates and candles, setting alight the stoves and ovens. Then he starts cooking, searing, turning, stirring, basting, simmering, and finally with liveried Aiel growing out their hair and serving their toh (Sulin!) serving the meal in absolute splendor.
And finally at the end it is time to eat this delicious set up. It’s one of the tastiest ones of the series. Hail Master Chef Jordan!

A great series! One of the best!
I really like this series, the story and especially the characters are top notch.
My only gripe would be the repetitive descriptions as though readers in this, the sixth book in the series, are reading the wheel of time series as though starting book 1.
It's even better on audible allowing me to listen on my 45 min commute. The voice narrating/acting is great! I like the way they switch up readers based on the sex of the main character perspective each chapter. A males' inner thoughts reflect a mans and a females' a woman's respectively.

Conflict
Conflict between men and women and low opinion of men by women seems to mark this story. Plot is superb and action scenes excellent.

The most boring of the series so far
Not the best of the series.... prolly the worst so far. Also the narrators suddenly changed pronunciation of names in this book for some reason.... Tar Valon, Mogedeon...

Best book of the series
This is my favourite book of the series and the last with a traditional confrontation near the end of the book. Books 7 through 11 can feel like a bit of a slog as new characters and new plots are introduced while older plots are left hanging.
