À propos de cet audio
What might have been? That tantalizing question propels a woman on a cross-country adventure to reunite with the men she loved and let go, in Danielle Steel's exhilarating new novel.
It all starts with a fall from a ladder in a firehouse in New York City. The firehouse has been converted into a unique Manhattan home and studio where renowned photographer Madison Allen works and lives after raising three children on her own. But the accident, which happens while Maddie is sorting through long-forgotten personal mementos and photos, results in more than a broken ankle. It changes her life.
Spurred by old memories, the forced pause in her demanding schedule, and an argument with her daughter that leads to a rare crisis of confidence, Maddie embarks on a road trip. She hopes to answer questions about the men she loved and might have married - but didn't - in the years after she was left alone with three young children. Wearing a cast and driving a rented SUV, she sets off to reconnect with three very different men - one in Boston, one in Chicago, and another in Wyoming - to know once and for all if the decisions she made long ago were the right ones.
Before moving forward into the future, she is compelled to confront the past. As the miles and days pass, and with each new encounter, Maddie's life comes into clearer focus, and a new future takes shape.
A deeply felt story about love, motherhood, family, and fate, Lost and Found is an irresistible new novel from America's most dynamic storyteller.

Bland predictable writing
I'm not sure the author puts much thought into sentence structure. She does not put variation into it.
The storyline was predictable in the short term, medium term, and long term. Consistent at that.
Her demonstration of foreshadowing was at the level of elementary students. He worried about ______, he mentioned the risks of violence in _______, He asked her once again if she would reconsider the trip ______.
Good verbs are far more effective than good adverbs in front of a mediocre verb.

Not my typical style but good
I liked the storyline. I had difficulty with how it was read. It seemed so mechanical considering this was her life. I would have felt more connected if it was a woman’s voice of Maddie’s age. I would have loved to have seen this in a movie.

Just didn't ring true for me
I found all of the characters to be unbelievable. Everything that happened in the story seemed just a little too perfect.

Awesome Book
What can I say about Danielle Steel that hasn’t already written! Loved this story too. I have been a huge fan of hers for many years and have a countless number of her books. May she continue to write and I be able to read it listen to them. Thank you!

Lost and Found
I’ve read many Danielle Steel books and for the first time ever, after the first three chapters or so, I was thinking of giving it up. However the plot picked up and I totally enjoyed this read. I love reading about strong women and Maddie is definitely one. Quick ending to the adventure though would’ve enjoyed a bit longer of a book.

Not quite like other Danielle Steel books
Dan John Miller did a great job narrating the book, however the storyline was drawn out and lacked excitement. I've listened to many Danielle Steel books by now, and this was not a favorite.

Self-Indulgent Tripe
It is a given when you read or listen to a Danielle Steel book that you will wish an editor had hacked through at least a third of the novel eliminating the unnecessary repetition. The narrator says something. A character explains it to someone else and then it is rehashed multiple times.
In this novel Steel seems to have written herself as the main character in order to chastise her children. Here she is a wildly successful photographer whose ungrateful adult children don't appreciate her. You will be bashed by thie premise at least one hundred times. Danielle aka Madi has no faults, has impeccable judgement, and has sacrificed much for her ungrateful children. Deanna, the eldest, is nothing short of a terrible character with no redeeming traits.
The idea of going back to visit previous lovers after many years had so much potential, but couldn't compete with the many flaws of the book.
Kudos to the narrator who had to suffer through performing this literary disaster.
