Claudia and Ben are the perfect couple. Ever since their first date, when they both admitted they had no desire for children, their courtship and marriage seemed destined. Their relationship is about freedom, possibility, and exploration. About being together because they want to be together. Not because children are caging them with 18 years of obligation. But then Ben changes his mind: He does want children, after all.

winey story
I am usually such a fan of stories of Unrequited Love but I found this book to be a tad bit annoying....
I just wanted to take the lead character and shake her and say, "well you did this to yourself"
All she did was be winey and played the victim in this story.
I loved all of the other books by by this author, but this one, not so much.

Loved her first book
I loved Emily's first 2 books, Something Borrowed and the 2nd Something Blue. I found this book overly predicatable, but I really did have a feeling of loving or hating each Character.
The book was good I would recommand it to people who liked her first 2 books.

Elightening for married couples
I started to get a little tired of the typical titilating affair at the beginning of the story, but was totally satisfied with the reasons for the telling of the tale by the end!

Have you ever loved a bad boy who can't commit, got dumped by him, fell in love with and married the perfect with the perfect family, but miss and want to bad boy anyway? Then you will LOVE this book and give it 4 or 5 stars.
Me, not only did I not relate to the main character, I found all the characters too one dimensional. I didn't like them, much less love them. I listened while driving a long trip thinking it would keep me alert. Mistake! I found I kept daydreaming. And getting sleepy. And it wss only 8 pm. I finally had to pull over to a McDonald's and take a nap in my car, it was that boring.
But I adore the writer herself, and all of her other books. The prose is wonderful. Otherwise, I'd have given it 1 star.

Very annoying lead character
I completely agree with the previous post. I really like this author, but I kept finding myself wanting at just scream at Ellen for her wishy washy, bring-it-all-on-yourself and whine about it behavior. But on the upside, I would say it's good for a light summer book.

So Relatable!
This story is so relatable. So many times, I was thinking Emily Giffin was writing MY story! I'm sure there are so many readers who thought the same thing. It's definitely chick lit but don't be a snob about the genre. It's a fun and easy escape that we all need right now.

Emily Giffin is always a favorite!
I have read and listened to this book numerous times, and it is like spending time with dear old friends. Emily Giffin’s characters are so well drawn. While the plot is always interesting, it seems to take a back seat to character development. This is probably my second favorite of her novels. The way she portrays the relationships of her characters draws you in and you find yourself relating to them. I highly recommend this book.
