À propos de cet audio

International speaker, business consultant, productivity expert, and best-selling author Brian Tracy is a go-to authority on how to stay on top of work and your personal life - while maintaining a strong and healthy balance between the two.

In Master Your Time, Master Your Life, Tracy explains why tackling the right project at the right time is of the utmost importance. Based on the most recent research into the field of productivity as well as the author's personal experiences and those of his clients, Tracy argues that we may be stuck on something because of one simple thing: The timing isn't right.

This book will take listeners through simple steps to figure out when they're most productive on specific tasks and create a framework for optimal productivity that can change lives forever.

There's quite a bit of overlap from his other books, but overall was an enjoyable listen

I am a Brian Tracy fan. I have been listening to programs from Brian since 2008. This audio recording of Master your Time Master Your Life is Excellent. The examples he uses are congruent with the stuff that can be disturbing to our productivity. Examples such constantly checking the emails, app on our smart phones, and more.

This is a good quote from the book:

It estimated that the average adult today spends three and a half hours each day checking apps, email and text messages.

Brian adds later, the average adult checks their email 145 times per day...

And, each time you send or receive an e-mail, your body releases a tiny amount of dopamine, a stimulant similar to cocaine. This stimulant gives you a mild sense of pleasure, which causes you unconsciously to want to duplicate this feeling. And since you get this feeling by sending or receiving e-mails, checking SMS messages, making phone calls, or otherwise communicating by smart phone calls or computer, you start doing this all day. Soon, you can’t stop yourself, like an addict.

... And finally, here is a simple formula for work time. Don’t check your e-mail in the morning. Check your email only twice a day, at perhaps 11:00 and 3:00. In between, turn off all sounds bell, and rings that reminds you there are incoming messages.

My best chapter of this audio book is the one on rest and relaxation time. This is another excellent advice from Brian:

Set Rest as Priority. Sometimes, the very best use of your time is to come home and go to bed early at 8:00 or 9:00 PM, and just sleep for nice or ten hours, completely recharging your mental and physical batteries

More than Excellent

I wish I had read this book when I was younger. I would have made so many different choices and been so much farther ahead. But now that I'm 56, I can't afford to waste more time without achieving my goals. This book is even more important at this stage of my life. I'm making this book required reading for all my now young adult children. They need this and all the activities in this book to provide guidance and choices that they will make. Might as well start them off right!

I wish I had read this book when I was younger, but now that I'm older it's even more important than ever!

Full disclosure - I did not (could not) finish this book. With those I finished, I did so with the feeling that the authors message was based upon overly generalized assumptions about human nature that would favour the authors superficial approach to Goal Generation.

I was looking for greater focus on science-based decision management or specific process-driven activities. Mr. Tracy comes well recommended by a colleague of mine, but this was a miss.

If you have trouble writing goals, this book may be worth consideration.

The audio quality is very poor.

Overall this purchase was disappointing.
