À propos de cet audio

In Master of Iron, the conclusion to Tricia Levenseller’s exciting Bladesmith YA fantasy duology, a magically gifted blacksmith with social anxiety must race against the clock to save her beloved sister and stop a devastating war.

Eighteen-year-old Ziva may have defeated a deadly warlord, but the price was almost too much. Ziva is forced into a breakneck race to a nearby city with the handsome mercenary, Kellyn, and the young scholar, Petrik, to find a powerful magical healer who can save her sister’s life.

When the events that follow lead to Ziva and Kellyn’s capture by an ambitious prince, Ziva is forced into the very situation she’s been dreading: magicking dangerous weapons meant for world domination.

The forge has always been Ziva’s safe space, a place to avoid society and the anxiety it causes her, but now it is her prison, and she’s not sure just how much of herself she’ll have to sacrifice to save Kellyn and take center stage in the very war she’s been trying to stop.

I enjoy the originality of these characters, being slightly different from what you’d typically find in the genre.

A mage smith with social anxiety is a very relatable heroine, side kicks being a scholar, her sister (- a want to be city guard) and a kind mercenary. The “kings and queens” are more like squabbling millennials than medieval rulers.

The only “straight” character is warlord they captured (although she is a woman) are having to deal with. She’s much smarter than all of them and how are they going to deal with that?

Oh- there’s also the conquering army on their doorstep….

Although a traditional crisis, the untraditional nature of the characters involved makes the story funny at times, and heightens the crisis. How do the wholly unprepared handle these things?

The performance is again [chef’s kiss] fantastic. This actor does an amazing job with both genders’ voices. I highly recommend seeking out her work even if this book isn’t your cup of tea.

Well, she doesn't want to talk to anyone she doesn't know. A main character with magical talents and social anxiety. She would rather fight in a battle than speak publically but she will do both to save her sister.

A heroine who still doesn't want to talk to you.

The narrator was not adept enough at doing multiple voices, and especially the men’s voices. Many of the voices were also very whine-y (beyond the character traits), which made it difficult to listen

Good story, but sadly, wrong person to narrate it
