Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled - until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet-cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

Now, Dax needs her help. As guardian to his 13-year-old sister, he's in way over his head. And though Kailyn hasn't forgiven Dax, she isn't heartless enough to make him fend for himself, either. Soon, their friendly meetings turn into flirty dinner dates, and Kailyn can feel their chemistry is as explosive as ever. But how can she possibly let down her guard again to a guy who has heartbreak written all over him?

"Best-selling Hunting's latest humorous and heartfelt love story...is another smartly plotted and perfectly executed rom-com with a spot-on sense of snarky wit and a generous helping of smoldering sexual chemistry." (Booklist)

"Entertaining, funny, and emotional." (Harlequin Junkie)

5stars

Absolutely loved this book. I needed something light hearted, that would make me laugh but that was also serious at the same time. This book filled in everything I needed. It’s described as second chance m, enemy to love romances and it was, with tragedy and learning how to deal with it, taking on the responsibility of a teenager also dealing with tragedy. When Dax had to go to CVS I died, literally laughed through the whole scene and even after. Loved it! Teddy Hamilton’s voice can melt butter , also enjoyed Holly Warren’s narration. Great pairing

This audiobook checks all the boxes

I laughed cried and sighed while listening to Meet Cute. Helena Hunting knows how to write a story, and Teddy Hamilton and Holly Warren know how to tell it.
Teddy is always brilliant, but he shines here. Holly Warren is fast becoming a favorite. Highly recommend this touching book about family, loss and love.

Loved!

I really loved this one! I expected a cutesy story about a fan-girl and her celebrity crush, but it was so much more. It was cute, but also packed with a lot of heart and a dash of heat. Just an all-around feel-good romance that was exactly what I needed.

An enjoyable romance

I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't overly cheesy and had an interesting story line. If you like laid back romance novels this one is good!

Fun read with a little Hotness

This book was pretty tame compared to Hunting’s other books but definitely still carries the chemistry and sexiness you would expect from this writer. The storyline was definitely heartbreaking and the build up was steady. The only thing that ruined it for me was the Fangirl storyline, I found this part of the story a little juvenile for me. Kailyn was portrayed as driven, classy, independent but also passionate, the whole fangirl moments squashed that. Despite this, I’m still a “fan” of Hunting’s books.

More heavy than cute, but still worth the read

This story was so much more than just a typical meet cute. It does have its entertaining and funny moments, but it's also full of deep emotion, angst, and heart-wrenching moments.

The writing was flawless. The way loss and grief were depicted was accurate, forcing the reader to feel and understand the confusion, sorrow, and determination to learn a new normal. Even more so, the reader could truly feel the love between Dax and his sister Emme. I also loved Kailyn's character arc - growing from a fumbling fan girl to a strong, empathetic and fierce woman.

The narrators did a great job at bringing the characters to life. Definitely a book I would recommend to read!

Poorly conceived

Helena Hunting's Meet Cute does indeed have a cute beginning between the hero and the heroine, and the basics of a good romance are all there, but so many of the details are poorly thought out and poorly written and end up making the story wholly implausible. The intimate scenes were glossed over with very little detail as though the author didn't feel comfortable with erotic writing. It took the main characters waaay too long to come to figure out the mystery of the alcohol, which was the most obvious thing ever. Their problem throughout the story seemed to be their lack of initiative to do even a little digging to find out the whole truth. Both the hero and the heroine just assumed they knew everything already and didn't bother to ask for more information of any other character, not just each other as in every romance where a lack of communication is the main hurdle. The total lack of communication was astounding and trickled down even to the little sister's school administration, which was woefully inadequate in dealing with her grief and keeping her brother informed of her progress and let the aunt--who had absolutely no legal standing as of yet--have entirely too much authority in the sister's school matters. I found myself clenching my fists in solidarity with Emmy. None of it was realistic.
