From Andrew Morton, the New York Times best-selling author of Diana: Her True Story, comes a revealing, juicy, and inspiring biography of Meghan Markle, the American actress who won Prince Harry's heart. When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were set up by a mutual friend on a blind date in July 2016, little did they know that the resulting whirlwind romance would lead to their engagement in November 2017 and marriage in May 2018. Since then, our fascination with the woman who has smashed the royal mold has rocketed.

For seventy years, Queen Elizabeth ruled over an institution and a family. She was constant in her desire to provide a steady presence and to be a trustworthy steward of the British people and the Commonwealth. In the face of her uncle’s abdication, in the uncertainty of the Blitz, and in the tentative exposure of her family and private life to the public via the press, Elizabeth became synonymous with the crown. In The New Royals, journalist Katie Nicholl provides a nuanced look at Elizabeth’s remarkable and unrivalled reign.

In September 2007, Elissa Wall, the star witness against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, gave captivating testimony of how Jeffs forced her to marry her first cousin at age 14. This harrowing account proved to be the most compelling evidence against Jeffs, showing the harsh realities of this closed community and the lengths to which Jeffs went in order to control the sect's women. Now, in this courageous memoir, Wall tells the incredible story of how she emerged from the confines of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and helped bring one of America's most notorious criminals to justice.

Royal insider Lady Colin Campbell sets the record straight on many of the most controversial aspects of Diana's turbulent life. In The Real Diana, she reveals that the reason she knew so much about what went on behind the palace gates was because Diana herself was the source. Drawing upon these confidences - as well as on conversations with countless people who knew Diana and with Diana herself in the final years of her life - Lady Colin Campbell combines true insight with true compassion to bring us the most intimate and revealing portrait of the Princess of Wales.

Description
Meghan Misunderstood is a pioneering book that sets the record straight on the most talked about, unfairly vilified and misrepresented woman in the world.
Meghan was 11 when she first advocated for women’s rights; a teenager when she worked in a soup kitchen feeding the homeless; a popular actress when she campaigned for clean water in Africa and passionately championed gender equality in a speech to a United Nations Women’s Conference. Even before she met Prince Harry, hers was an extraordinarily accomplished life. Meghan’s wedding to Harry was a joyful occasion, marking happiness at last for the Queen’s grandson who had captured our hearts 20 years earlier when he bravely walked behind his mother Diana’s coffin. Theirs was a story that the screenwriters of Hollywood – where Meghan had made her name – could scarcely have imagined.
The rom-com fantasy, however, soon turned into disturbing drama: any expectation of a life happily-ever-after was cruelly dashed by bullying tabloid newspapers and their allies, both on social media and within the walls of the Palace itself. Meghan was targeted for her gender, her race, her nationality and her profession. The abuse became so bad that 72 female MPs signed a letter of solidarity against the ‘often distasteful and misleading press’, calling out the ‘outdated colonial undertones’ of the stories. Now, Sean Smith, the UK’s leading celebrity biographer, pulls no punches as he reveals the remarkable and powerful story of this self-made, intelligent American woman with a strong social conscience who has made such an impact on our lives.

It was ok
Being new to audible I did not realize that Megan was not the narrator. I had listened to Harry’s book the spare and had hoped that this would be just as good. I found that they drifted away from her and told too many stories of other people. Overall it was ok, at times a bit boring but glad I listened to it.

A Matter of Fact Biography
Where Finding Freedom read like a cozy romance with obvious fanfiction elements ( I enjoyed it a lot!) this is more about facts. If you are a fan of Meghan then you probably know everything that is retold in this book but if not then this book is really good at describing Meghan's entire life and showcasing how amazing she was before meeting Harry.
The Crown has shown a new generation how awful the Royal Family is (watch Diana: In Her Own Words if you think its fiction) and after listening to this audiobook it's pretty obvious Meghan is a strong principled woman who refused to break under the pressure of "Duty" and instead of playing the role of quiet dutiful wife became a 2020 avenger that rescued the Prince from a life void of emotion.
I can't wait to see what more they can do, together

A sensitive depiction of a beautiful soul
I will start by admitting I am an admirer of Meghan Markle and have followed her story since she was an actress on Suits. I doubted I would learn much more about her but heard good things about the book. I was pleasantly surprised. We see her commitment since childhood to true kindness and a soul-deep empathy-driven desire to make a positive difference in the world around her. Her self motivated drive pushed her to greatness again and again. Well before she met Harry we see that she was already a leader with a dedication to volunteerism and we listen to her evolution as she learns how to leverage her education and popularity on the screen to become a global spokesperson and make a difference to people needing basics to live such as water or to their ability to go to school or care for themselves and improve their lives. She joined forces with many notable advocates and leaders. Her charisma and yes..beauty is what brought her to the attention of the Prince, but it was their common global outlook and earnest commitment to similar causes that sparked their love. I admire and respect her even more after this book.

This book was well needed to be heard.
It’s just a shame that Meghan and her mother and Harry are treated so disrespectful! What the hell! How dare people be that way. Just goes to show you who has a hateful heart. So hypocritical when you see them in church!

This book is not great...in fact it isn't even good. Several times I shut it off as I got sick of the poor me Meghan. I finished the book because I was hoping it would redeem itself and because I paid for it. With so many books out there for free...don't waste your time or money. Compelling
The book was compelling, it laid out the events and intent of the British media, which includes the ROTA to diminish Duchess Meghan by way of character assassination.
