At some point in the last like 1/5 of the book somehow things go from escalatingly creepy, eerie, and tense to an inexplicably tidy set of twists before a pat ending that while bloody and surreal loses some of the interesting aspects by literally invoking the name of HP Lovecraft and referencing his works.
