Bad narration ruins a book

I really, really wanted to like this story. The characters are interesting and the world-building is really fun, however, the narrator spoiled the book for me.

I can forgive occasional slipups when a narrator makes a slight mistake in pronunciation, but this narration sounds like the producers kept the first take of everything and called it a day.

Numerous times the narrator mispronounces words such as "extensential" or speaks poorly, like saying the character "lost conscious". Every time this happened it took me out of the experience and broke my immersion in the story.

But the straw that broke the camel's back for me was when she referred to the main character, "Gwen" as "Glenn". Unfortunately, that is where I had to return the book.

If you are able to overlook this, I'm sure the world and characters will be worth it for you, but otherwise, I would avoid this book.
