The book really picked up after the first quarter. all around the story was good, but the tone changed after the beginning. I got more invested and enjoyed the tempo more

This is my 2nd book from C Reid that I have enjoyed. I really enjoy the character development and how the plot moves along. Her books are slow burn, and she writes them well! No continuous repetitive internal dialogue that most slow burns turn out to be. This narrator is new to me and I must say her voice is 🔥🔥🔥All around ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.
