good listen. characters and voices were done very well. ended on a clif hanger so will be getting the next book

I was disappointed in this book and struggled to finish it to the very end. I found the main female character naive, child like in her moods and behavior, she constantly made poor choices that made no sense. I would have rather Naomi West make her a survivor, smart and quick witted but instead we got the opposite. The main male character and Don of the bratva is seriously flawed himself. Although I liked his character more in comparison to his female counterpart. In the book Naomi West writes about Amrik being the Don of the Russian mafia. However Don's are Italian and Pakhan's are Russian. Seems like there is a lack of character development, poor research and overall poor execution to this book. Book ends on a cliffhanger however I think this was so not needed. The book should have been wrapped up as a standalone. Instead we get an unexpected twist that left me overall asking why West chose to end the book like that. I think West needed to complete a second book but it was so no necessary. I finished the book but came very close to just stopping at 80 percent completion because i was so annoyed with the plot and characters.
