I watched the most recent movie of this tragic life event "Society of the Snow" and then I listened to this book which brought it all together for me. The book is an amazing overview of the tragedy, loss of life, unbelievable human suffering, strength, perseverance and resilience. It depicts the incredible importance of hope and that never giving up despite having all odds against you, is a human quality that can and does save lives. I so appreciated the raw honesty the author provides from his perspective regarding individual personalities and relationships which are not always pristine of course, but the humility with which he shares them. Having the author provide and personally narrate an overview of where those who survived have been and some still are in life was a treasure to listen to at the end. This author ensured the lives of all those aboard were spoken of, and remembered. He is a gift to his fellow passengers, friends and indeed to humanity and I thank him for this work.

This was a wonderful novel full of resilience, strength and human souls in the darkest of experiences. I was in awe of these victims with their courage and brotherhood.

I loved how Nando gave a personal touch to all of the people on the place. For the first time, I feel like I got to know a bit about the individual people and the role they each played in the situation. Nando and his editors did a really great job with this book. I really appreciated his honesty and candid descriptions of the situation. I also couldn’t stop listening to this book. The reader was also really great! Very well done.

This was recommended read, and was worth every moment. People with such will to survive and gratitude for the people they experienced this traumatic ordeal with. True testimonial of the desire to be alive.

incredible story of the human spirit

This book is about so much more than the human resilience. It’s a bit scientific, faith, thrust, human behavior and more. I think about that story many times when I go on in my own life. It did really marked me. Can’t recommend enough.
