À propos de cet audio
My parents were born about 56 and 54 years before me. They were born and raised in a much different world, an entirely separate cultural and technological time period. Their 1950’s childhood differs immensely from my early 2000’s childhood. I would go as far as to say that the generational gap between my parents’ generation and mine is the largest in recorded history, as the vast majority of generations throughout recorded history never experienced any substantial technological growth or scientific advancement, especially nowhere near the levels the modern generations of the 20th and 21st centuries have. Because of this major and historically unprecedented leap in technology, their history, their way of life, their knowledge, and experiences are set to evaporate within the next few decades. This is why it is important to record their history now. I’ve set out to interview my mother and father to recount their lives, to record their life experiences in the early stages of an ever-modernizing world.
