À propos de cet audio
One New Year’s masquerade. One anonymous hookup. One billionaire-sized mistake.
Once upon a time, someone looked at my scrawny, impetuous eight-year-old self and nicknamed me Mr. Important… and I believed them.
That was my first mistake.
Two decades, a dozen failed careers, and a thousand meaningless hookups later, I’ve made more mistakes than I can count. My parents have decided I’m purely decorative, my brother thinks I need pep talks, and the gorgeous billionaire who hired me as a favor to my dad? He’s forgotten I exist.
So I’m done with mistakes.
Call it my New Year’s resolution. From now on, I’m going after what I want… starting with the mysterious silver fox in the Roman warrior mask who approached me at the charity gala and offered me a scorching, anonymous one-night stand.
Unfortunately, when our masks come off I realize mistakes are not done with me.
Because the bossy guy who blew my mind? He’d thought I was someone else. Worse than that, he’s my father’s friend. A supposedly-straight workaholic. The person I’m stuck on a road trip with for the next two weeks. And, oh yeah, my actual boss.
The farther we get from New York, the closer we become, and the harder it is to pretend I’m not falling for him. But I can’t see how someone as brilliant, controlled, and successful as Thatcher Pennington would risk everything to be with someone like me… even if he makes me feel like I’m finally Mr. Important.

This can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the previous book. There were alot of mentions of Reagans brother and his love throughout this book, so I'm assuming book 1 was their story. I didn’t feel lost at all though not knowing them. However, they seem like a cute couple so I'll definitely read book 1.
Going into this story I had low expectations due to MC1 being a rich, politicians son, who lives off his parents and despite being a grown adult let's them boss him around. I hate characters like that.
This story was sooo predictable. I literally could play out the whole plot in my head from the start. This led me to being bored and frustrated throughout the whole book. I only kept listening because I could listen MD read anything but even then it was hard. There is some much drama in this book. Certain added characters and their drama was totally unnecessary and I know the villain of the story is obviously important but they got away with way too much and made for an exhausting story. I just wanted it to end.
Neither character was overly enjoyable. Thatcher took being grumpy to new levels. I was hoping he would lighten up as they spent time together but he just kept being a rude jerk. He was also very out of touch with reality and unrealistic on how to do business for a supposed powerful CEO. He let everyone, especially one person, manipulate and control him constantly and was so dismissive of Reagan when he had the experience and social media following to help the company and then never stood up for Reagan or fought for him when he was right. Reagan for his part was a doormat. Considering his main goal was to prove himself to his parents and his boss, it drove me crazy that he let everyone walk all over him and carried on like an immature child. I didn't feel any chemistry between these 2 men outside the bedroom.
I did enjoy this world that the author created. Like I said before I was intrigued by Reagans brother as well as the bus driver/PA Mcgee who added some humor and I'm also curious about Chris.
Fabulous performance from MD as always
