À propos de cet audio

Douglas W. Tallamy's first book, Bringing Nature Home, awakened thousands of individuals to an urgent situation: wildlife populations are in decline because the native plants they depend on are fast disappearing. His solution? Plant more natives. In this new book, Tallamy takes the next step and outlines his vision for a grassroots approach to conservation.

Nature's Best Hope shows how homeowners everywhere can turn their yards into conservation corridors that provide wildlife habitats. Because this approach relies on the initiatives of private individuals, it is immune from the whims of government policy. Even more important, it's practical, effective, and easy - you will walk away with specific suggestions you can incorporate into your own yard.

If you're concerned about doing something good for the environment, Nature's Best Hope is the blueprint you need. By acting now, you can help preserve our precious wildlife - and the planet - for future generations.

This book is packed with so much valuable information that is truly essential to our environment and our future on this planet. I've listened to it twice now and will listen to it many more times, I'm sure. Highly recommended!

I really quite liked this book. It is one of many in this genre I have read or listened to. I felt the arguments made where well honed and thoughtful, and the suggestions of actions were great. I only have this 4 stars, however, because I find it irksome when a writer doesn't read their own book. To those not bothered by that, the narrator was very easy to listen to

Really good book! lots of valuable information

This is a call to action! Not on a global scale, but on a personal basis.

I've always cared about ecology and the environment, but I hadn't realized how my own actions were in conflict with my beliefs. I'm going to follow many of the suggestions in this book, and make my own back yard a little more friendly to the local ecosystem.

For a long time I have thought “what more can I do for conservation and changing my ecological footprint?” I’m glad I chose to read this book. Douglas W. Tallamy really does a great job of breaking down in the simplest terms things that any homeowner can do to help our ecosystem. There is a lot of scientific information as well, which is great to hear statistics and population numbers, but it all come back to keeping it simple. What can we do in our own yards to help? Highly recommend giving this a read/listen
