Refreshing introductions. I've hear way too many novels where they give a quick background into each person's life before getting back to the story. BUT HERE, the past comes up AS the characters get to know each other. Things come to light through dialogue, not as a blurb that always sits at the back of the character's mind.

I much prefer books written in 1st person. Not all novels like this are. When stories are written in 3rd person, the author can easily switch gears, smoothly sharing the opinions and inner thoughts of all the characters involved in a situation. But this books is written perfectly.
