À propos de cet audio

Jodi Picoult, bestselling author of My Sister's Keeper and Small Great Things, pens her most riveting book yet with a startling and poignant story about the devastating aftermath of a small-town tragedy.

Sterling is an ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens--until the day its complacency is shattered by a school shooting. Josie Cormier, the daughter of the judge sitting on the case, should be the state's best witness, but she can't remember what happened before her very own eyes--or can she? As the trial progresses, fault lines between the high school and the adult community begin to show--destroying the closest of friendships and families. Nineteen Minutes asks what it means to be different in our society, who has the right to judge someone else, and whether anyone is ever really who they seem to be.

It could have been slightly shorter but I listened as an audiobook and found myself wanting to return to hear the end

The author showed the perspectives of numerous characters on a chilling topic and kept me engaged

I’ve only recently discovered Jodi Picoult but I’ve quickly learned that it is difficult to listen to her stories and emerge unchanged. I always learn things from her stories as well and am amazed at the amount of research she typically puts into her books. This book is not an easy listen as it deals with challenging issues that aren’t easily addressed or resolved. At times I found it heartbreaking and I think that is part of the point. Her books make you dig deep and feel things that aren’t always comfortable. I appreciate how the author takes you inside the minds of many people as this world needs more empathy. Overall, this is a compelling novel and I recommend it.

This was an incredible story with gut wrenching emotional relatability.
As a teacher it is an important read and a reminder that we need to go about our day connecting with students on a much deeper level. It is critical we include social-emotional learning within school. Staff need Professional Development Opportunities to understand brain science, mental health, emotions and build empathy.

Deeply emotional

Tough subject… and Jodi coverage of it was exceptionally! It’s not as good as other books she’s written but her but I found her characters and research of this subject an excellent way to get the message across.

Well done
