So I was skeptical when this new title came up in my recommendations. I know about Arr Benjamin, though, so I gave it a try. This is not an audio transcription of a print title, it's written and produced specifically for audio, and it's amazing how well he uses the format. In many ways it's more effective than a print title on the subject because cognitively it operates in the same space that mental arithmetic naturally does.
The material is practical. Instead of a compendium of exotic and complicated mental algorithms, it's focussed on getting you good at the kind of everyday numeracy that our schools ought to have.
Even if you're not a fan of mental math for it's own sake, give this unique audiobook a try. If you're like me and need to work on your arithmetic a lot, this could be just the thing for you.
