À propos de cet audio
Nothing is quite as it seems in this collection of eleven dazzling stories. We meet a queen who makes a bargain she cannot keep; a secretary who watches over the life she has just left; a man who bets on a horse that may—or may not—have spoken to him. Everything that readers love about the novels of Kate Atkinson is here: the inventiveness, the verbal felicity, the sharp observations on human nature and the deeply satisfying emotional wallop. A startling and funny feast for the imagination, these stories conjure a multiverse of subtly connected worlds while illuminating the webs of chance and connection among us all.
Ce que les critiques en disent
"Simply one of the best writers working today, anywhere in the world." —Gillian Flynn, author of Gone Girl
"Atkinson has the control and charm to do with fiction whatever she fancies." —The Guardian
"Atkinson has the happy knack of capturing the nature of her characters with arch aplomb." —The Daily Mail
"Normal Rules Don't Apply mashes up the mythical and the mundane with. . .zest and mischief." —The Herald
"Most striking of all...is the abiding send of infectious, slightly bonkers fun. Atkinson is clearly having a great time letting her imagination run wild--and my firm guess is that her readers will too." —Reader's Digest (UK)
"Stunning. . . a master class. . . . If the concept sounds promisingly fun, the whimsical but sharp prose is built to match, full of speculative glee, but tinged with poignancy." —Publishers Weekly

Every chapter, paragraph, sentence, word or comma is perfect. The ambiance, the tone, the dialogues are just so perfectly presented. And might I dare say that we have found a narrator that is just as enjoyable as Jason Isaacs? Quite a performance. I will be listening to this one a great many times.
Absolutely fabulous
