Let me be perfectly clear... I loved this series - the concept and plot lines, the characters, the twists and turns. All good.

But The style of writing drives me insane.

Falconer's style reminds me of... let's see... if Plato wrote sci-fi for goldfish watching reality tv.

On one hand, Falconer insists on reminding the reader of important or not important events that happened in earlier books, in earlier chapters, and indeed, in earlier minutes. Every. Single. Time.

He also crams as many ideas and questions as possible into moments of reflection as the worst possible time, upsetting the action of the moment and running the tension he's worked to build up.

The repetition of explanations after 6 books is truly insulting to me as a reader. I don't need everything spelled out every time it's mentioned, especially after 6 books.

I needed to finish this series out of curiosity and interest, but I won't be picking up other title by the author.
