À propos de cet audio

Life is hard. We all suffer. We have all been hurt and have hurt others. Many of us are tired and, above all, lonely. We often feel like wanderers in a desert. There must be more to life. More joy, more safety, more significance, more friends, more help, more God. But those things are hard to find. We feel like we should be living in a land of abundance, but we actually live in a land of scarcity–a world that doesn’t feel like a home fit for humans.

We are all travelers in this wilderness. Sojourners in a strange land. Or, in the words of the Apostle Peter, “exiles dispersed abroad.” At the same time we are also, “chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient and to be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ.” So we are wanderers but not lost. Exiles, but not without a promised land. Lost children, but not orphans. We are homeless, but not truly without a home. We’re just not home yet.

This book is for every weary heart in search of a home. For every person who longs to find an oasis in this desert and to share it with friends. This book is for every anxious, tired, and lonely person searching for a deep and abiding connection with the one true source of all things, Jesus. And it's for every person who, once that connection is established, wants to create oases for others and help them connect with Jesus more intimately.

Part theory and part practical advice, Brandon and Liv first gently and compassionately help the listener find an oasis with Jesus–the God of compassion and grace–and then offer simple instructions for helping others find the same through the incarnate grace of hospitality.
