À propos de cet audio

A golden time - that's what Chris Anderson, his brother Aaron, and their friends expected of that final summer. Freedom, and lazy, pleasure-filled days before the responsibilities of college and career. An idyll in their newfound private place on the shores of three small lakes.

But Tri-Lakes is no oasis. A millennium ago it became the focal point of a powerfully malevolent force, and the remnants of an ancient Viking bloodfeud.

Hatred is its source.

Blood gives it power.

And only sacrifice can banish it.

Great plot, great performance. I picked this up as I was thoroughly impressed by a short-story of Brian Hodge's in a Lovecraft-tribute collection. While the summary for this book did little for me, I trusted the author's name. He didn't disappoint. I could say that the formula of a gothic story is too readily apparent here, but it's blended in so well with the style of the bittersweet highschool memoir that frames it, that it feels organic. I'll be tracking down the rest of Hodge's bibliography, Audible or otherwise. I don't usually comment on the quality of the reader/performer, but this was excellent here as well.

Great modern gothic romp.
