I loved every minute of this book except the pronunciation of some key words. Dan Simmons made this sojourn a rock opera that had you crying "No! Keep going I want to hear what happens next!" at the end of every chapter. Delightful

Simmons truly is a master in how he has woven this story together. Would definitely recomend to friends who enjoy a good sci fi book. such a unique story that is the perfect blend between the ancient lore of Greek mythology and futuristic science.

This is a colossus of a series , remarkable science , superb plot and wonderful characters . My single reservation is the constant literary intrusions which are over long and for the best part, add very little. In the print version you could presumably skip them (pages of Proust ) but in the audible version you can either fast forward and possibly miss something or grit your teeth and listen !
But none of this detracts from a fabulous tale , fabulously told.
